Well, after the initial onslaught of environmental kaboom hits home the slower sensory messages in the thalamus finally hit the cerebral cortex, specifically the prefrontal cortex, the spot in the very front from the brain accountable for executive functioning - the mental ability to obtain and interpret information and formulate decisions. As this occurs, conscious and rational thought about the events available is generated. Yes - it?s within the prefrontal cortex the fear stimuli are logically analyzed in great detail, the last assessment being sent for the amygdala.

Now, the prefrontal cortex must remain on high-alert and do its better to ensure assessment accuracy due to its communication with the areas from the brain related to pain, pleasure, anger, aggression, and panic. Indeed, there?s a great deal at risk. And when it?s all said and done the amygdala ultimately takes a version of appropriate action, which, with the way - if sufficiently convinced - normally include restoration of calm. Ah ? all of this will be the panic sufferer?s dilemma, isn?t it?

And without practiced intervention it genuinely doesn?t stand much of an chance.

Oh ? yet another bit of very important information that means a lot to us. The amygdala also impacts fear memory by knocking about the door from the hippocampus. This allows for any faster interpretation and action response next time around.

Wow - that of a protection device we possess. However, again, this protection device presents a significant drawback because it paves the way for gross misinterpretation of sensory input, leading to inappropriate overreaction to seriously harmless stimuli.
