Back Up The Android.
Well if finally happened. My Android crashed during an install of your system update that forced me to reset my Android back to Factory Defaults. Those two words alone shake the muse and rattle windows.
For me however, I learned my lesson previously, and became very careful about get yourself ready for this type of an contingency.
I hope until this article makes it possible to because it was being prepared that averted too much headaches. In a previous article I wrote about using FTP for connecting my "Droid" to my computer to transfer files. I will come returning to that in just a moment, but first I would like to explain how I minimized my down-time.
It started using a Android System Update that has been pushed in the market to me, and like any other self respecting tech, I was not happy if you know when another thing is fixed in software, a pair of things are subsequently broken. This I learned from writing code, and am fully aware that if anything will go wrong, it is going to, at probably the most inopportune time, to cause probably the most problems.
Here is when it is possible to minimize a calamity.
Invest inside the largest SD Storage Memory Card that your particular Android / Phone supports. Mine holds a 16 GIG Card and price me $28 dollars at Radio Shack
Enter Android Assistant. A free app that among other functions supports BACKUP and RECOVERY. For Calendar and Email, I would suggest LOOKOUT Mobile Security.
Move the APPS that you've installed from your Phone towards the SD Card. On the Card, they could be recalled less difficult then downloading everything throughout.
Android Assistant makes this easy, where it is possible to select multiple files simultaneously. You may also utilize built in feature of your Android, although it is not as easy.
To utilize Built In Features of the Android Phone,In Settings, head to Applications, then check out Manage Applications. You will be offered an option if allowed by the installed APP, to maneuver the APP in the phone towards the SD Card. (MOVE IT if allowed.)
Now EXPORT your Contacts out of your phone for the SD Card. I would suggest doing this Export of your respective Contacts weekly.
In Contacts, Press the Left Menu Key Once to take up then choose the Import and Export Option.Select Export to SD CardSelect ALL Contacts
You will be presented having a Default File Name ending in VCF. Write that down as you will want it later. All of the contacts come in one VCF File
Use the FTP Transfer Option or perhaps the USB Cable to repeat the SD Card Contents to your house computer. CLICK HERE TO READ THE ARTICLE ON USING FTP TRANSFER
To Recover, Use Android Assistant to INSTALL THE APPS in the SD Card, and IMPORT your contacts back into the phone while using Import / Export feature located inside Contacts Menu.
The default location the info is saved to is sdcard/AndroidAssistant_appbackup. Be sure to repeat this folder for a computer while using FTP or Direct Cable Connect Option. I backup the entire SD-Card.
CALENDAR Backup is accomplished by means of my default Google Mail Account, and those items will or should return independently.
Another option for Calendar and Email is LOOKOUT Mobile Security App which does an excellent job. Worthy of the examine by those that prefer simplicity.
In a pinch, you are able to even research your emails at the site.
HOWEVER for starters to backup and recover crucial computer data, I would recommend that you install the FREE APP called "Android Assistant". It accommodates the backup and recovery by simplifying the procedure. Well worth every penny for that beginner or advanced user.
Please feel free to reach in the market to me for those who have any questions.
