This time, whenever you click Next, you're shown more options; we recommend you accept the defaults and click Next.
3) The files found will not be shown with their correct filenames though partial filenames or sector numbers, like Sector 109450. This isn't attractive identifying lost files. DiskDigger supplies a way of previewing the lost images or, for other file types, exploring the first few bytes. Select the file inside the list for the left and select the Preview or perhaps the 'First few bytes' tab. The Thumbnail option in the View menu can also be useful; it shows small images rather than the sector numbers in the list. For non-graphic files, when the first couple of bytes don't identify your file, you might need to try recovering files speculatively and opening them in the relevant application.
4) Once you've identified your missing files, make certain they're selected in the list for the left and click on 'Save selected files...' at the top-left in the screen. Hold down Ctrl when you select each sector to select multiple. In the 'Browse for Folder' dialog box, choose the folder that you would like to restore the file (this ought not to be about the same device because the lost file) and then click OK. The missing files will probably be saved with names such as sector546026.JPG, so rename them using considerably better descriptions.
Recovering Files from a Hard Disk
5) If your deleted file is on the hard drive, do not attempt to download DiskDigger on to that disk - it might find yourself overwriting the file you're trying to recover.
